Tyler Lovering (born 13 July 1971) is a Canadian Australian retired ice hockey player and current chairman and a commissioner of the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Lovering first played for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League in the 1987-88 season. He played five games for the Warriors, scoring one goal.[1] In 1989 he joined the University of Massachusetts Lowell's ice hockey team to compete in the NCAA Division I Hockey East association.[2] Lovering played two seasons for the University of Massachusetts Lowell before resigning with the Moose Jaw Warriors for the start of the 1991-92 season.[2] Lovering has also previously played for the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League and the Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.[3] Lovering moved to Australia in 1995 and in 2000 joined the Sydney Bears of the newly formed Australian Ice Hockey League.[3] He competed in every season for the Bears until 2008 after which he retired from ice hockey.[1]
Lovering was first called up to represent Australia in 1998 where he joined the national senior team to compete in the 1998 IIHF World Championship Pool D tournament.[1] He continued to compete for Australia at the World Championships, earning consecutive callups from 1998 to 2004.[1] In 2006 Lovering returned to the Australian team to compete in the 2006 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Auckland, New Zealand. Australia finished third while Lovering recorded four assists in his five games.[4] Lovering made his final appearance for Australia in 2008 to compete in the 2008 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament where he went on to score one goal and record six penalties in minutes in his five games.[5]
In 2010 Lovering was appointed a commissioner and the chairman of the Australian Ice Hockey League. He is currently serving a term of four years from 2010 to 2013 and is responsible for the leagues strategy, development and media.[3]
Lovering was born on 13 July 1971 in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada and moved to Australia in 1995.[1][3] He is the director of Australian Financial Publications, a financial media company.[3] He has previously worked as director and head of clients and markets of Deloitte Australia, head of client relations for Insto Magazine and as EMC for Ernst & Young. Lovering holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Regina.[6]
